Two Piece Installation (Left to Right)

Here is a great video on how to install a two piece wall decal. This decal will come in two or more pieces. You'll install from left to right. Take a look!

Here's how to install a two piece decal or multiple piece wall decal.

Things you'll need before you get started:

  1. Instructions (included)
  2. Painters Tape
  3. Scissors
  4. Squeegee (included)
  5. Xacto Knife (optional)
  6. Wet washcloth

Step 1: FLATTEN OUT YOUR DECAL
Clean, dry and smooth should describe your surface. If you've painted within the last 3 weeks make sure your paint is completely set.

Pull your decal out of your packaging box and unroll everything. Place heavy materials along the edge of the decal (ex. books, heavy boxes). Allow the decal to flatten out which should take around 2 hours.

Step 2: RUN SQUEEGEE TOOL ACROSS FRONT & BACK OF DECALS
Once your decal has flattened out. Take the squeegee tool that was included in the instructions you have and run it across the front and back of the decal over the transfer tape to get any existing bubbles and creases out before installing. It doesn’t have to be perfect but doing this will make the install easier.

The squeegee tool will be located in the clear pouch with the instructions. This will be located inside the box. If you lost your squeegee or can't find it a credit / debit card will do the same exact thing. Anything small and flat.

Step 3: POSITION & LEVEL YOUR WALL DECAL
Choose the (1) decal in your box. Notice the #1 in the upper left corner of the decal. This is the first decal you will put up.

Position your wall graphic on your wall where you plan to place it. Your decal is cut down as a rectangle for easy measuring. Secure your wall decal with painting tape at the top of the wall graphic. (The tape acts as a hinge for the project.) You can see your wall decal through its semi-transparent transfer tape.

Step 4: FROM LEFT TO RIGHT PLACE TAPE ACROSS THE CENTER
After your wall graphic is hinged with tape at the top take another piece of painters tape and apply a piece from left to right all the way across the center of the graphic.

Step 5: PEEL OFF TOP PAPER BACKING
Peel off the two top pieces of painters tape you applied & then peel back the paper backing of the top part of your decal. This will expose the sticker once you peel back the paper backing.

    Step 6: CUT PAPER BACKING
Once the top of your decal is exposed, make sure the paper backing is flat so you can cut the paper backing away.

Use a piece of tape to hold the paper backing if you need to.

Step 7: APPLY GRAPHIC TO WALL & SQUEEGEE DECAL TO WALL
    Apply graphic to the wall.

    1. Hold the transfer tape tight and straight.

    2. Use the squeegee tool to apply the graphic to the wall. Start from the bottom of the exposed decal and work your way up going from left to right in a upward motion.

Step 8: PEEL BACK PAINTERS TAPE
Peel off the last remaining painters tape. REPEAT STEPS 5 & 7 You are now applying the bottom part of your wall decal.

DO NOT REMOVE TRANSFER TAPE  FROM THE WALL!!!!!

Step 9: Leave Decal #1 on the wall while installing Decal #2. Use lines that line up to both decal pieces to line up Decal #2

Butt Decal #2 up against Decal #1 REPEAT STEPS 3 through 8

Step 10: RUN HOT WATER OVER WASHCLOTH
Take a washcloth and run hot water over the washcloth. Make sure it’s nice and wet but wring out the washcloth.

Once your decals are up on the wall but you have not yet removed the transfer tape take your wet washcloth and rub it all over the transfer tape. The heat and moisture from the washcloth will help remove the adhesive grip from the transfer tape. Kind of like a temporary tattoo.

You can remove the transfer tape without getting it wet but from our experience getting the transfer tape wet helps out significantly. A issue that might happen when removing the transfer tape while dry is the lettering will stick to the transfer tape when removing it.

Step 11: PEEL OFF TRANSFER TAPE ONCE WET
Carefully peel off the sticky top layer of Transfer Tape. Peeling at 180 degree angle does help when peeling transfer tape away from the wall.

Step 12: YOU ARE A ROCKSTAR DECAL INSTALLER!
You are all finished up. Now enjoy the view of your new wall decal.
